The Boise Curling Club is pleased to announce several new curling opportunities for the upcoming spring and summer months.

Learn to Curl

**We will need experienced curlers to volunteer as on-ice coaches and helpers.**

March: We will be hosting Learn to Curl/Open Houses on March 22^nd and 25^th from 6:30-8:00 and 7:30-9:00. All sessions will feature a half hour off ice instructional session covering rules, etiquette and proper technique. New curlers will get a chance to get into the proper positions necessary for delivery and sweeping before getting on the ice. Then they will be given a chance to get on the ice for an hour to apply what they learned by throwing a few practice stones and then playing a two end game. Sign up at www.boisecurlingclub.org. Cost is $20, which can be applied to future league fees.

May: We are in the planning stages of a Learn to Curl/Open House on Thursday, May 31^st. Time will be 7:15-8:45, and we will follow the same format as the March LTC. Cost is $20, which can be applied to future league fees.

Spring: Thursday nights, March 29^th-May 3^rd, 7:00-9:00 pm. This 6 week league will have an emphasis on learning the game, and first priority will be given to participants in the March Learn to Curls. We will also need experienced curlers to fill out teams and teach the finer points of the game (setup & takedown, ready curling, broomstacking, etc) to new curlers. If you’d like to try a new position, maybe be a skip or a vice for the first time, this league is for you. Spots in this league will be on a first come, first served basis, so don’t delay. Cost is $95* for club members, and $125* for non-members.

May Intraclub Bonspiel: Thursdays, May 10^th- 24^th, 7:45-9:45 pm. This three week league will use an 8 team, bonspiel format. Each team will play 3 games, with the winner gaining bragging rights for being the First Annual Intergalactic Bonspiel Champion. Sign up as a team, or as an individual and get placed on a team of the organizer’s choosing. Participation is limited to 8 teams, so sign up now to avoid being left out. Cost is $160* per team, or $40* per player.

Summer: Thursday nights, June 7-August 2, 7:15-9:15 (no curling on July 5). This 8 week league will follow our current standard league format with a round robin followed by a playdown. We need a minimum of 8 teams for this league, with a maximum of 10, so sign up now to help us plan. Cost is $120* for members, $150* for non-members.

*All league costs are approximate and will be determined by the actual number of teams and players that sign up.

Later on in the Fall season, we’ll be having a ‘DIY Curling Shoes’ workshop. On this page, in addition to the materials and tools list (they’ll be provided at the workshop) we’ll also have the steps taken and pictures from the workshop to provide a visual aide on how to make your own.

For just 70 cents a day, you can help provide the shelter and education our stones need to mature, grow, and thrive. Under your sponsorship – they can become the mature curling rocks they need – and want  - to be! Your generous contribution of 70 cents a day – that’s only $250 dollars a year – will give these rocks the food, clothing, and care they need. It will supply them with the handle, in one of several primary colors – that they need to be used! They’ll have the warm shelter of the Boise Curling Club storage boxes to keep them out of the elements and safe from danger. For just 70 cents a day they’ll be with friends, curling rocks just like them – knowing that they’re valued and loved.  Can’t you find it in your heart to adopt one of our few remaining stones?
